The Trail 110 was acquired from a guy that needed a bike to go to Cuba. His bike (the Trail 110) would not shift. My bike, a old Honda Reflex (once owned by a rock star) was ready to go so we traded and he threw a few bucks in. My wife calls this the Cuban Motorcycle. It was originally in California. The owner need a light bike that could handel the roads, but store well on the boat to and from the island. The bike needed a small pin in the transmission right under the cover and the clutch pack. I ordered the clutch tool from the Honda dealer in Key West (who is about the worst Honda dealer that I have personally ever dealt with) and went in ever two weeks for the first two months, and then ever month for the next three months to be cursed at, forced to look through a box with thirty to forty receipts like mine (paid in full, no part yet ordered, and three months or more old), told it was ordered. Told it was a bad part number (how did he get the correct price??), told that it was on order. Then when I was in Michigan at Bill's Sport Shop in Spring Lake MI, the tool that I needed was for sale on display for half the price so I purchased it and fixed the machine. Returning to the Honda dealer in Key West I was told that the tool was in and that he sent it back or he might have it, but he did not have the time to look for me. Then he went on to say that he personally called me and left me a message on my machine. To say I was discussed would be a understatement. In front of his Bubba Conchs (Key West for homies. These were the guys he was bs'ing with that made him too busy to find my tool) I told him that he so full of crap (I did use French). The number that I gave him did not have voicemail activated because my calls are forwarded to me on my mobile and I never have missed a message-EVER. The bubbas all looked at the owner they all know what a crappy dealer he is, and how many people that he rips off. He snickered and said that if I could find my receipt he would refund me. Most people in Key West are not organized enough to have a checking account so this would have worked with most. But I have a filing system and brought that in within a 1/2 hour. All the bubbas were still around so he had to refund me and keep his word. |
