On the way home from work one day I noticed this car on the side of the road for sale. I looked at it, but it was priced way high. a few days later I noticed the car with the price crossed out and lowered. This guy from Washington drove this car to Key West and was living in it. He was a beach bum and broke the key off in the ignition. Because he was broke, he hot wired the car. This worked but raised suspicions of the local law enforcement. I never really got the full story out of him, but I believe that he had a ticket that was not paid, so his license was suspended and so he couldn't drive the car anyways. The cops arrested him while sleeping in the car because the key was in the ignition (before the key broke or maybe this was when the key broke). So needless to say he could not even move the car now. I bought his supper and paid him very fair market price for a non-running Miata. I replaced the ignition switch, got some fuel in her (he had run her dry), and with a charged battery she started. I then began to get it ready to be my wifes Key West car. The Miata is a joy to drive. It is difficult to begin to explain why this car is such a great overall sports car. Miatas are a blast and I will own one again someday.
